When my clients are filing bankruptcy, they often ask if their employer is going to find out that they actually filed bankruptcy. I can often tell them that in almost all situations that they will not find out that my client has filed bankruptcy. There is no mechanism set up by the bankruptcy court to give notice to the employer that a bankruptcy has been filed by the employee. The only way that an employer is going to know that my client has filed bankruptcy is if my client actually tells them.
